I'm Patricia Mary Ives.

 

​I'm a great grandmother and I always wanted to be an artist but my dad wouldn't let me go to art school because he said I would only get married and have kids.  And that is exactly what I did do, but I wish he could have realised it was possible for me to do both. After they married, women tended not to work in those days though.  The world has changed a lot since then

 

I paint mainly portraits in oils, but I also use other mediums including Encaustic Wax.  

 

As well as painting, I do elaborate crosstitch (from patterns), make greetings cards using decoupage, quilling and tea bag folding techniques and I also decorate eggs in the Faberge style.
